Fat Grafting & Revision Surgery: Cell Treatment Questions

Understand the surgical plan before evaluating a cell adjunct.

Updated 9 October 2026Patient information · References included

Treatment options include cell-assisted facial or breast fat grafting, hip contouring and adjuncts described in revision surgery. Each operation has its own indication and risks. A general stem cell service page cannot establish the details of your surgical plan.

Understanding your treatment options

Ask what the added cell step is intended to accomplish and which evidence supports it for your operation. Revision rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and facial fat transfer should not be presented as one interchangeable regenerative procedure.

Make the comparison operation-specific

A useful surgical proposal identifies the donor site, recipient site, planned volume, anesthesia, the processing step and the aftercare plan. Compare those details across clinics. A smaller fee may reflect a different operation rather than a lower price for the same procedure.

For revision surgery, previous implants, grafts, scars and operative records can affect planning. Ask what is known before examination and what may change after the surgeon reviews your records. Do not treat a preliminary remote quote as a final surgical recommendation.

Separate three kinds of result

  • Appearance: the change you can see and whether it meets the agreed goal.
  • Graft retention: how the clinic measures maintained volume over time.
  • Safety: complications, additional treatment and the need for revision.

Evidence about one of these outcomes should not be presented as proving all three.

Prepare for the consultation

Bring operative records when available. Ask the surgeon about alternatives, anesthesia, likely limitations, follow-up and the possibility of further revision. Confirm all charges and the management plan for complications.

Ask for the exact product, processing method, route and approval status in writing. The same diagnosis can be approached with very different products; a shared treatment name does not make their evidence interchangeable.
